Oneway RSM Racing Club celebrates debut runner with a winner!
Bold Diktator won his first race for the Club at Wolverhampton on Saturday 30 December. Although purchased to go jumping the heavy going at most jumps courses meant that Bold Diktator's first run in Club colours was on the all-weather. This was the fifth flat success for the gelding and the third time Steve Drowne had been the successful pilot.
Despite the foul weather several Club members turned up at wet and windy Wolverhampton to cheer on the Club's first runner. Their bravery in defying the gales was richly rewarded when Bold Diktator swept past the favourite, Spark Up who had won six times at the course, and won by 1 3/4 lengths going away.
The plan, now, is to find a hurdle race on decent ground which will provide a good introduction to jumping. Hopefully, this will be within two or three weeks.
To join the Club speak to Tom on 07973 511664 or send a cheque to Tom for £500, made payable to Oneway RSM Racing Club, and he will send you a certificate of membership and a SO form for your completion to cover the monthly subscription of £40 a month.
Master of the Race
The Oneway National Hunt Partnership enjoyed seeing its gelding run at Wolverhampton on Saturday 30th December and run a very respectable race coming home 4th of nine. Hopefully this will prove an ideal preparation for his intended first run over hurdles on 10 January at Wincanton.
Entries week commencing 1 January 2007
Dolly is entered in three races at Kempton on Wednesday 3 January 2007. She ran respectably last time she ran and it is hoped that she will run well again.
Berkhamsted is entered at Lingfield (3.45pm) on the same day and Tres Hombres is entered at Wolverhampton (3.50pm) on 4 January 2007. Both these horses are entered for the sales at the end of the month.
2006
This first year has been a very successful one for Oneway. We have had 12 winners, 10 seconds, six thirds and three fourths from 72 runs with only 17 different horses. Star of the show was Ishi Adiva who earned almost £33,000 in prize money from her five races as a 2yo, followed by Luis Melendez who won four races from 11 starts despite only costing 1,500 gns at the sales and not forgetting our first winner, Principal Witness, nor Political Intrigue who won two of his three hurdle races before tragically dying of colic before his potential was anything like fulfilled.
2007
We are excited about the prospects for 2007 and wish all our owners, friends and supporters a very successful, happy and healthy New Year.
