Winners, winners, winners and more winners
Well, what a week we have had. Last Friday, 31 August, Max One Two Three won first time out at Salisbury. On Monday, 3 September, Zaskar won first time out at Wolverhampton. Today Gross Prophet won a nursery at Newbury. So the last three 2yo's to run have all won.
We have seen really great rides from Richard Kingscote on Max One Two Three and on Gross Prophet and from Hayley Turner on Zaskar. The latter, an Anabaa filly, is a bit of a madam and tried to destroy Hayley in the paddock when I was trying to give her a leg-up. Fortunately she missed Hayley but destroyed the opposition instead.
I bought Max One Two Three and Zaskar at the Tatts Ireland Yearling Sale this time last year so I went to the 2007 Sale this week and bought six yearlings in the hope that they too will prove good buys. I am delighted with them and believe they represent real value for money. Further details are on the Horses For Sale page of the website.
This weekend I'm having a short break from racing and flying with David Pipe and two other friends in Dave's helicopter to Lens to watch England's opening game in the Rugby World Cup. I hope to persuade Dave to call in at Fontwell on the way back on Sunday so I can saddle Rainbow Flame in a novice hurdle.
