Dear Members,
Bold Diktator
Boldie has had a few weeks rest waiting for the rain to ease off (haven’t we all!) and will be ready to run over hurdles as soon as the ground firms up. He is in good form and will be schooled over jumps very shortly.

Your filly continues to progress. Because she was still growing so much we had to go easy with her in the early months of the year and she started serious training much later than the others. However we have put a lot of work into her in the last month or so and she has caught up rapidly. In fact she needs an easy few days, which she will get this week, because she is suffering from sore shins. This is very common with two year olds and is nothing to worry about but indicates that they are doing enough.
Hopefully she will be ready to run at the end of the month or early August.
Yard UpdateOne of my owners claimed a 3yo filly,
Shawhill, at Windsor a month or so ago and I ran her in a listed race at Lion d’Angers in France where she ran really well to come second. Her owner is very excited about her and we are running her on Saturday at Haydock in the Lancashire Oaks. This is a Group 2 race on Channel 4 and is the first time I have had a Group runner. On paper she has a lot to find but she does like the ground.
The same owner claimed another horse in France,
Etoile Argentee, who looks as though she will be good when she has recovered from a slight setback.
Sawwaah, who I claimed a few months ago, won three races for me including one under a great ride from Michaela at Newbury. Unfortunately he has injured himself and will be off the course for some time.
The 2yo’s are more backward than I had hoped and we have only had three of them run so far. They all need time to strengthen up to show their worth. It is frustrating but you can’t hurry nature. Hopefully I’ll be able to start running them again shortly.
Master of the Race who proved disappointing over jumps and back on the flat, together with
Conservation, go to the Sales in a week’s time.
Gallop MorningWe are planning a yard visit and gallop morning on Saturday 28 July. It will start at 9.30 a.m and hopefully, this time, more of you will be able to attend.

Your SponsorsRSM Robson Rhodes, the Club’s sponsors, merged with Grant Thornton on 2 July and the new practice will trade as Grant Thornton. The new merged firm becomes the fifth largest firm of chartered accountants in the UK with some 400 partners and thousands of staff. We are in talks with GT about continuing the sponsorship which will entail a change of Club name and of course the sponsor’s logo on our jockey’s silks.
If GT does agree to become involved it will open up a large reservoir of potential members for the Club and, hopefully, move us closer to our goal of 100+ members. We are still a long way off that target and enter July with 32 members.
Remember that we can have more horses running in the Club’s colours if we increase our membership and I ask each of you to do your best to introduce a new member to the Club.
WebsiteOur website is

With very best wishes.
