Winner No 30 for the year

Tom's last runner, before the end of the 2008 flat season, was a winner. Saucy, ridden by Richard Kingscote, won at Lingfield on Thursday afternoon to make it 30 winners in 2008. This was Saucy's second run for Tom and was a welcome winner for both Tom and Saucy's owner Bernadette Quinn.

Tom was not able to go to Lingfield today because he was supervising the arrival at his yard of some 34 yearlings all already broken and ridden away by Harry Whittington at his yard on the outskirts of Lambourn. This is the third year that Harry has helped in this way and Tom is very satisfied with the care and attention the young stock have received. Harry has become an essential part of the ONEWAY team. The yearlings will now have just a few days to settle in before being paraded for Tom's owners at an end of season party at the yard on Sunday 9th.

Having moved into the yard at Felstead Court recently, increasing ONEWAY's capacity to 73 boxes, it is very pleasing to see all the boxes full with horses in training with those temporarily out of training being housed elsewhere.
